Do we really need to book our hotels early?
Yes. Jay Leno is hosting a car event that weekend, and about 200,000 people are expected in Newport. Super annoying, we know. We’re sorry. Book as soon as you can. Our hotel picks are on the Travel page.
Are there any room blocks?
No. Newport has plenty of hotels, so we didn’t hold any room blocks. Please don’t hate us.
Is the venue in Newport?
Not exactly. The reception is at Blithewold in Bristol, RI, about 20 minutes from Newport. The ceremony and the after party are both in downtown Newport, so we recommend staying in Newport.
Will there be shuttles?
Yes. Shuttles will run from downtown Newport to Blithewold and back. We’ll share the route and departure times as we get closer to the date. The hotels we recommend will likely be on or close to the shuttle route. Let the bus drivers be the only designated drivers that night.
Can I bring kids?
No. This is an adults-only celebration, except for a couple of kids in the wedding party. Think of it as a kid-free night out.
What’s the dress code?
Wear something nice, but no white. Julia likes color and pastels (please, nothing neon).
Can I take photos or videos during the ceremony?
Please don’t. Our photographer and videographer will capture everything, and we’ll share the photos and videos with everyone after the wedding.
Can I bring a plus one?
If you have a plus one, it’s already in our system. You’ll see it when you RSVP on this site.
